Gemini: questions owners ask

Is Gemini the same thing as AI Overviews?

No. Gemini is Google's assistant app and AI Overviews sit in Google Search. Google-Extended can limit what Gemini uses from your site without touching Search.

Can guests book through Gemini?

In Ask Maps, launched in March 2026, people can book restaurant reservations and save places. In the US, the Gemini app can search Viator for tours; the booking finishes on Viator.

Does Gemini answer in my guests' language?

Not everywhere yet. Gemini's help says its Maps answers are rolling out gradually, for adults signed in with a personal Google Account who ask about a place in English.

Can I send Gemini corrections about my business?

There is no form for it. Gemini reads your facts from Google Maps, so change them in your Business Profile; its help page even says Gemini cannot add a review to a place.

See what Gemini would find

Gemini reads your Google Maps listing first, so the audit's listing and review checks are the ones to watch.

It checks

  • Your listing shows a Google rating, and whether it is strong
  • How many Google reviews you have compared with the businesses near you
  • The website address on your listing, and a link back to Maps from your site
  • Where you rank on Google for searches in English

Then PlacePilot

  • Your new site links to your Google reviews and your Maps listing for directions
  • It has English pages written for the searches visitors make
