Does Perplexity train its AI on my website?
Perplexity says PerplexityBot is not used to crawl content for AI foundation models; it exists to surface and link sites in search results.
If I block AI bots on my host, am I out of Perplexity?
Blocking PerplexityBot keeps your pages out of its search results. Perplexity-User, which opens a page because a person asked, generally ignores robots.txt.
Do I sign up somewhere to be listed?
We found no listing program for local businesses. Perplexity finds you through its crawler and through partners such as Yelp and Tripadvisor.
How quickly does Perplexity notice a change?
Its docs say robots.txt changes take up to 24 hours. For changes to your pages we found no stated schedule, so update the page and check again later.
Is the Yelp partnership still running?
Yelp announced it in March 2024 and we found no notice that it ended. Treat your Yelp page as something Perplexity may read.
